India’s reigning Dota 2 champions, Team Avengers, have done it again. The squad stormed through the National Esports Championships (NESC) 2025 Indian qualifiers without dropping a single game, earning the honor of representing India at OXY 2025 in Russia for the second year in a row. Their dominance was absolute, their teamwork flawless, and their hunger for international glory stronger than ever.

The grand final against WOF was a best-of-three showdown, but Avengers made sure it never even reached a deciding game. In the first match, they dismantled WOF with a staggering 54–24 scoreline, showcasing their mechanical mastery and flawless coordination. In the second match, they kept the momentum rolling, sealing the series in straight games and punching their ticket to the world stage once again.

Captain Abhishek Yadav reflected on the team’s journey with pride and determination. “The journey so far has been filled with challenges, but our hard work and dedication have paid off. Representing India at OXY in Russia for the second time is both an honor and a responsibility, and we are determined to give our best performance on the global stage.”

At OXY 2025, Team Avengers will face some of the most formidable teams in the world, including squads from the USA, Brazil, China, Argentina, Egypt, Iran, Kazakhstan, South Africa, Serbia, and Vietnam. The pressure will be immense, but if history has shown anything, it is that the Avengers thrive when the stakes are highest.

Esports Federation of India (ESFI) director Lokesh Suji praised the team’s consistency and impact on the nation’s competitive gaming scene. “Team Avengers’ back-to-back qualification for OXY is a reflection of India’s growing competitive strength in Dota 2. Their discipline, teamwork, and consistency set a benchmark for aspiring esports athletes across the country.”

OXY 2025 boasts a prize pool of ₽5.5 million, which is roughly ₹55 lakh. The champions will take home ₽2 million (₹22 lakh), while the runner-up will earn ₽1.25 million (₹13.75 lakh). For Team Avengers, however, the money is secondary  their primary goal is to put India on the global Dota 2 map with a performance that leaves no doubt about their place among the world’s best.

And the journey doesn’t stop there. Team Avengers will also represent India in the Dota 2 event at the upcoming World Esports Championship (WEC) 2025, doubling their chances to bring home international glory this year.

With their relentless drive, sharp strategies, and undeniable skill, Team Avengers have once again proven that they are not just participants on the world stage  they are contenders. And when they step into the spotlight in Russia, the entire nation will be watching.
