GRID Expands With Major Acquisition

Esports data platform GRID has officially acquired the intellectual property assets of Bayes Esports, a move that marks a significant shift in the esports data industry. Bayes Esports, once a leading B2B provider, filed for insolvency earlier this year. GRID stepped in to acquire its valuable technologies and solutions, securing innovations that had been developed over more than a decade.

The acquired assets include live data trading solutions, prediction models, and fan engagement tools. These will now be integrated into GRID Bet, GRID’s regulated esports betting platform, to enhance both operator offerings and fan experiences.

Strengthening GRID Bet

According to GRID’s founder and CEO Moritz Maurer, the acquisition is set to “accelerate GRID’s capabilities to create value for rights holders in esports and shape the next phase of esports betting.” With Bayes’ technology now part of its portfolio, GRID aims to provide even more accurate data-driven betting products. This means faster settlements, sharper odds, and broader coverage of the growing esports betting market.

GRID’s Role in the Esports Ecosystem

Over the last five years, GRID has established itself as one of the world’s leading esports data providers. The company has secured major partnerships with tournament organizers, including a multi-year deal with BLAST in 2024 to integrate data from Counter-Strike and Dota 2 events. These partnerships have positioned GRID as a central figure in the esports ecosystem, bridging the gap between tournament data, betting operators, and fans.

Bayes Esports Legacy

Founded in 2019, Bayes Esports was once a cornerstone of the esports data industry. It worked with both esports organizations and gambling stakeholders to deliver official data solutions across multiple platforms. The company’s innovations in predictive modeling and fan engagement tools made it a strong player, and now those advancements will continue under GRID’s leadership.

New Directions for GRID in 2025

Beyond GRID Bet, the company has been expanding its portfolio with new products designed to enhance the esports viewing experience. In June, GRID launched GRID Insights, an AI-powered analytics platform that generates real-time insights for broadcasts, giving viewers more context and engagement while watching esports matches.

With Bayes’ technology integrated, GRID is poised to push innovation further, combining advanced analytics with betting products to create a more interactive and dynamic esports environment for fans and stakeholders alike.
